WEBVTT 00:00.000 --> 00:06.240 Hello everyone and welcome to a Gamereactor Quick Look. 00:06.240 --> 00:13.520 As you are watching this, the full review, my written review of the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra 00:13.520 --> 00:15.400 will have gone live. 00:15.400 --> 00:20.440 So what you're actually witnessing is me unpackaging it, well I've just done that, 00:20.440 --> 00:23.280 taking it out of the box for the first time and look at the spec list. 00:23.280 --> 00:27.640 I was also a part of a media pre-briefing not too long ago where I learned some of the 00:27.640 --> 00:34.860 first details about Asus' overall sort of design plan for the Zenfone 11 Ultra. 00:34.860 --> 00:40.460 Now the Zenfone 11 Ultra is exactly as it sounds, whereas a lot of people thought that 00:40.460 --> 00:46.260 due to what reportedly low Zenfone sales, Asus was actually quitting sort of the mainstream 00:46.260 --> 00:51.700 smartphone business and leaving it all on the table for their more popular ROG phones. 00:51.700 --> 00:57.440 They really haven't done that, they have doubled down and given us a larger, which 00:57.440 --> 01:03.980 seems to be, could be a point of contention because people seem to like that Asus mainly 01:03.980 --> 01:09.160 made smaller phones, one of the few manufacturers left on the market that made flagship smaller 01:09.160 --> 01:10.160 phones. 01:10.160 --> 01:15.280 They've chosen to make a larger phone, which takes some design cues as you can probably 01:15.280 --> 01:20.160 tell from their ROG phones, but just mainly throws everything at the wall and gives you 01:20.160 --> 01:23.440 a Zenfone with all the bells and whistles. 01:23.440 --> 01:25.280 So what are the bells and whistles? 01:25.280 --> 01:26.820 So let's go through them. 01:27.440 --> 01:31.360 As I said, there are soft design cues here from the ROG phone. 01:31.360 --> 01:37.560 This camera module right here is not directly lifted off a ROG phone, but seems reminiscent 01:37.560 --> 01:41.000 of the camera island that you've gotten on those gamer phones for the past couple of 01:41.000 --> 01:42.000 years. 01:42.000 --> 01:46.940 There is also this angular cut through design, which is the only thing that breaks this blue 01:46.940 --> 01:51.720 nebula soft finish here on the back. 01:51.720 --> 01:57.160 These lines here are very nice and it's sort of embedded in the metal finish and they reflect 01:57.160 --> 02:01.100 the light in such a way, I'm pretty sure that it's doing it right now, and it looks, 02:01.100 --> 02:02.440 I think it looks great. 02:02.440 --> 02:06.140 I love a little flourish here and there as long as it doesn't become gaudy, and I think 02:06.140 --> 02:13.900 this is a phone which both scream quality, but also it's just a regular step up. 02:13.900 --> 02:18.760 The only thing that I will say is that that Alcantara like finish that they've had on 02:18.760 --> 02:22.160 the regular Zen phones for the past couple of years, I love that. 02:22.160 --> 02:25.680 I know some people say that there is some color maligning over months and maybe years, or 02:25.680 --> 02:25.720 whatever. 02:27.160 --> 02:32.920 But I just, I found it to be soft and I'm just, I'm so ready for a future where we can 02:32.920 --> 02:39.660 get these vegan leather back plates, or just other like back cover material than regular 02:39.660 --> 02:40.660 old glass. 02:40.660 --> 02:46.340 I just, I'm ready for that, but apart from that, I think it looks very, very good. 02:46.340 --> 02:51.260 It also sports all of the things that you would expect out of a phone for this particular 02:51.260 --> 02:52.260 price point. 02:52.260 --> 02:56.300 So we're talking dual SIM, IP68 dust and water assistance. 02:56.300 --> 03:00.560 There is a headphone jack here, which a lot of people are looking for, particularly on 03:00.560 --> 03:08.700 larger flagships where it seems to be missing a 5,500 milliamp hour battery, 65 watt charging. 03:08.700 --> 03:13.640 There's no charging in charger or in the box by the way, or 15 watt Qi wireless charging. 03:13.640 --> 03:15.640 So all of that is here. 03:15.640 --> 03:16.640 Great stuff. 03:16.640 --> 03:23.300 The screen in the front is an AMOLED LTPO display at 144 Hertz with HDR 10 capability. 03:23.300 --> 03:26.100 It is again, might be a point of contention. 03:26.100 --> 03:35.500 A 6.78 inch 1080 by 2,400 resolution display, meaning that this is not a 4K panel like you 03:35.500 --> 03:39.460 would see on some Sony phones. 03:39.460 --> 03:44.440 It doesn't even go higher than, you know, regular old 1080P as an iPhone does or a Samsung 03:44.440 --> 03:46.980 does, which is regular 1440P. 03:46.980 --> 03:53.880 So, but the thing is, while this is an ultra phone, it does not sport an ultra price point, 03:53.880 --> 03:55.360 which we'll get to at the very end. 03:56.100 --> 03:57.100 Need my words. 03:57.100 --> 04:00.320 This is not as expensive as you think it's going to be. 04:00.320 --> 04:05.860 So Qi wireless charging done, an LTPO 144 Hertz display done. 04:05.860 --> 04:12.200 This also uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so brand spanking new, highest of the bunch, which 04:12.200 --> 04:16.980 also is equipped with an Adreno 750 GPU unit, which is great. 04:16.980 --> 04:23.500 And it goes up to 512 gigs of UFS 4.0 storage alongside 16 gigs of RAM. 04:23.500 --> 04:25.000 Very, very nice. 04:25.000 --> 04:26.000 So you can have a pretty expensive phone. 04:26.000 --> 04:29.100 It's a very, very, very, very cheap one to be equipped version of this particular model. 04:29.100 --> 04:35.620 Around back here, in terms of camera, you do get a 50 megapixel 24 millimeter main shooter, 04:35.620 --> 04:36.620 which is fine. 04:36.620 --> 04:39.560 It has Gimbal optical image stabilization, which is also good. 04:39.560 --> 04:41.760 It has a 32 megapixel telephoto. 04:41.760 --> 04:47.260 It's only 3x optical unit, which some people is probably going to say that you need 5x 04:47.260 --> 04:50.800 or higher in order to compete with the main players in the business. 04:50.800 --> 04:55.680 I also agree, but then again, this will be cheaper than at least some of those, and then 04:55.680 --> 05:03.940 you have a 13 megapixel 120 degree ultra wide that enables 8k shooting at up to 24 fps which is 05:03.940 --> 05:09.400 very like industry standard for flagships and you also get stereo speakers which is great 05:09.400 --> 05:15.220 and under display fingerprint reader all of that stuff it's all here and it all feels absolutely 05:15.220 --> 05:21.020 great in this little package but the thing is while I'm lacking proper Danish pricing at the 05:21.020 --> 05:30.320 time of recording it seems to land at around 620 ish dollars which is very cheap I mean an iPhone 05:30.320 --> 05:36.040 14 pro just a regular pro and not even just going pro max is going to set you back much more than 05:36.040 --> 05:43.160 that and a Samsung Galaxy S24 ultra well that's going to be around a thousand euros or a thousand 05:43.160 --> 05:47.540 dollars I think actually retails for around like twelve hundred dollars there thereabouts that 05:47.540 --> 05:50.620 would make this around half of that now that is 05:51.020 --> 05:55.660 that is not final pricing so we might end up cutting this out of the video if it ends up 05:55.660 --> 06:02.160 being wrong but the point is it's really impressive and I really hope that Asus continues to make 06:02.160 --> 06:07.180 smartphones and particularly flagship smartphones because they just they have an identity they have 06:07.180 --> 06:13.020 a space so hopefully people will back them up and not only buy the ROG phones but the Zen phones as 06:13.020 --> 06:15.220 well thank you so much for watching see you on the next one
